The first mistake in an ARC Raiders PvE loadout is treating Aphelion and Bettina as simple damage upgrades. They solve different problems: one rewards deliberate component targeting, while the other protects a broader raid plan that may include both machines and Raiders. That distinction matters when your inventory, ammunition, and extraction chances are limited, especially if you are still building a collection of ARC Raiders BluePrints. The best choice depends less on a universal tier list than on how much of the raid you expect to control.

Match the Weapon to the Raid

Aphelion makes the strongest argument when ARC encounters are the main objective. Its energy ammunition and very strong penetration are valuable against armored machines, where exposed components can matter more than repeatedly firing at protected areas. This is a weapon for players who are comfortable slowing down, choosing an angle, and waiting for a useful weak-point opportunity.

Bettina takes the opposite approach. It is a practical assault-rifle option for medium-range fighting and remains useful when the raid can shift from PvE to PvP without warning. Its value is not that it dominates every specialized test, but that it keeps the same loadout relevant across more situations. A missed component shot is less damaging to your plan when the weapon is also ready for a Raider encounter.

Early Game Loadout Priorities

Early progression should favor survival and repeatable extraction rather than ambitious ARC farming. Newer players often spend valuable ammunition trying to force a machine fight that offers little immediate benefit, then enter the next encounter with reduced resources. Bettina is usually easier to manage during this stage because its flexible role reduces the need to carry a separate answer for every possible fight.

Aphelion becomes more attractive when you understand ARC behavior and can consistently hit exposed components. Until then, its penetration advantage may not compensate for missed shots, poor positioning, or an engagement that turns into PvP. Save the specialist weapon for raids where the objective and available resources justify the risk.

- Use Bettina when your route may include both ARC enemies and Raiders.

- Choose Aphelion when machine encounters are planned and weak-point accuracy is reliable.

- Avoid judging either weapon against only an unarmored target.

Mid Game Farming Decisions

Mid-game farming is where ammunition efficiency starts to shape long-term progression. A quick kill is not automatically a profitable kill if it consumes a disproportionate amount of ammunition or forces an unsafe extraction. Compare the resources spent with the value of the loot you can realistically carry out, not with the satisfaction of winning a difficult fight.

For a fair test, use similar equipment and repeat comparable raids. Track component shots, reloads, ammunition consumed, and whether the weapon remains useful after the ARC fight. This process reveals your actual efficiency better than community rankings because range and accuracy change the result.

Enter a low-risk or practice situation with a consistent loadout.
Record the ammunition used to damage important ARC components.
Note how often reloading interrupts movement or creates exposure.
Test the same weapon against Raiders at your normal combat distance.
Compare extraction value with the resources spent during the raid.

The common farming error is to select Aphelion for its specialist strength, then use it carelessly in every encounter. Another is choosing Bettina for flexibility but wasting ammunition by taking unnecessary long-range fights. Both weapons reward discipline; neither removes the need to manage positioning and resources.

Late Game Value and Risk

Late-game planning should ask which weapon supports your next several raids, not just the current run. Aphelion offers better long-term value for a player deliberately focused on ARC hunting, especially when improved ARC Turbine loot from the July update makes dedicated PvE runs more appealing. Its benefits become clearer as your component targeting and route planning improve.

Bettina offers broader insurance. It is the stronger daily-driver choice for players who frequently encounter unpredictable Raiders, change objectives, or cannot afford a weapon that becomes awkward outside machine fights. That flexibility can protect progression by reducing abandoned raids and unnecessary resource losses.

Final Choice by Playstyle

Pick Aphelion if your build and route are organized around controlled ARC engagements, strong positioning, and accurate component shots. Pick Bettina if your priority is a dependable medium-range rifle that can survive a mixed PvE and PvP raid. Keep testing both with the resources you actually use, and treat ARC Items as part of the wider progression plan rather than an excuse to overspend ammunition on a single fight.
